Mike Van Antwerp Co-Director mike@atomiclacrosse.com Coach Van Antwerp is the founder of Atomic Lacrosse and current varsity coach at Holt High School. He has been involved in lacrosse for more than 20 years and he brings a strong knowledge of the game and its fundamentals. In his high school days, he was a three-time All-State and HS All-American at U of D Jesuit. After high school, Coach Van Antwerp went on to play Division 1 lacrosse at Michigan State University. Brandon Schwind Co-Director Currently the head coach at Michigan State University, Coach Schwind grew up in Ohio playing at Upper Arlington HS and Wittenberg University. At Wittenberg, he was a four-year starter, 3x all-conference, team defensive MVP as a junior and captain his senior season. After finishing college, he went on to serve as the head assistant coach at D3 Fontbonne University. His duties there included acting as the recruiting coordinator for the team, which makes him an excellent person advising our players. Coach Schwind coached at Haslett HS for 2 years prior to coaching at MSU. He runs and coordinates all Fall and Winter programs. Andy Tibbits Coach Tibbits served as the defensive coordinator for Michigan State University for 10 years. Prior to coaching at MSU, Coach Tibbits was a standout defenseman at Lansing Waverly HS and Western Michigan University. He coached at Stevenson HS in Illinois and at Lansing Waverly. His experience coaching at both the high school and the collegiate level, as well as his strong knowledge of the game, are great assets to the program. Jonathon Edgerly Coach Edgerly graduated from Lansing Waverly High School. An All-State attackman in high school, he played in one state championship game (1998) and led the state in scoring that year. He continued his playing career at Michigan State University, where he was the team's offensive MVP for his final 3 years. He has been the head coach at Lansing Waverly since 2003. His roots to the area and strong knowledge of the game make him a great addition to the coaching staff. Shawn Grady Coach Grady graduated from Brother Rice High School and went on to play lacrosse at Michigan State University. Coach Grady also played with the University of Michigan club team and the Chicago Lacrosse Club. Currently, he serves as the head coach of Okemos High School and is the president of the MI High School Lacrosse Coaches Association. Coach Grady has been a mainstay in the lacrosse community for years and brings a wealth of knowledge to the program. Nick Facca Coach Facca graduated from Rochester Adams High School and went on to play at Western Michigan University. At WMU, he was an all-conference D-middie his senior year. He is currently the Offensive Coordinator at DeWitt High School, where he's been coaching for 2 years. Coach Facca's solid knowledge of both offense and defense make him a valuable part of the coaching staff. Kyle Harbin Currently an assistant at Michigan State University, Coach Harbin played attack at the University of Scranton (D3). He has coach all ages, from youth to varsity and brings a lot of experience to the staff. Prior to MSU, he was an assistant coach in Holt for 6 years. Nathan Perdue Coach Perdue graduated from Holt High School and went on to play lacrosse at Trine University (D3). In his high school days, he was an all-conference LSM and defenseman and later faced-off in college. Michael Updyke Coach Updyke is currently the JV Coach at Holt HS. He played both midfield and LSM in school and was a varsity assistant coach for 5 years before taking over the JV team. Alex Hrapkiewicz Coach Alex is currently a freshman at Texas Christian University. He was a 2x All-State player and HS All-American at Holt HS. He will be working with one of the youth teams. Rich Kimball Advisor The former D1 Coach at Michigan State University, Coach Kimball is currently the AD at Lansing Catholic Central. At MSU, he he led the team to several NCAA appearances and grew the team to a top 15 ranking. He grew up playing lacrosse on the east coast and starred at Bowdoin College. His knowledge and love of the game will be huge assets to the program. |
